seeing_ghosts: (Dean [8x05])

Wow, I'm SUPER late on this one. Wow, wow, wow. It's almost Christmas, though, and I'm really busy so I hope I'm forgiven?

Not really spoilers much, I think, given that it's been so long since the episode actually aired, but still.

I'm not getting into the Dean vs. Sam debate again. I feel like I've made my point somewhere around 8x06 and don't have the urge to go back to it. Let's just say that love how they're dealing with their fall-out because it seems to me that it's shown very clearly that both Sam and Dean, and neither of them at the same time, are in the right. I just wish fandom had a bit more perception and could see that, too.

And it looks like Amelia is real, damn it! ;D Well then.

What I want to talk about is Benny. Because Benny, and his storyline, and his excuses and alibi, are shady at best. I might be wrong here, but I do think that he was, actually, the one murdering all those people. I can't put my finger on it, not really, and you are free to disagree with me, but all the talk about 'Benny being the only who hasn't let Dean down yet,' and 'more of a brother to Dean than Sam has ever been,' is just suspicious. Never mid the fact that for someone who claims that his hunger is 100% under control, he seems to have a lot of problems to keep himself in check when faced with Dean's blood - Dean, who he himself calls brother and is probably his only friend and ally; and even when faced with Elizabeth's blood - Elizabeth, who is actually his family. (Also, Show, Roy and Elizabeth? Way to give me Fullmetal Alchemist feels.)

If he has that much of a hard time staying in line when it comes to people Benny loves, how could he resist the blood of a complete stranger?

I don't know. I might be wrong; part of me wants to be wrong because I like Benny, and I want to keep him, but part of me is still hung up on the concept of Dean's Ruby. I think he would make a really nice villain. It would be angst-inducing.

Thoughts? :)
